Harness design is often an overlooked aspect of having a dog, with many guardians seeking fashion over function or believing inaccurate advice on using one for walks.

With this in mind, I wanted to create this post to help inform you of the risks behind using certain brands, why harnesses are always better than relying solely on a collar, and bust some of the common myths around harness use.

The study of long-term effects on dogs wearing different harness designs are currently a key topic for canine researchers, with some conflicting and unreliable results. What the science can be sure of, is that harnesses are always safer compared to collars, and restricting the shoulder blade affects gait, which can lead to negative consequences for a dog's health and wellbeing.

My recommendations for harnesses are: - TTouch - Balance - XtraDog - Perfect Fit ___________________
